Cicindela terricola is a summer species. We have collected the subspecies Cicindela terricola cinctipennis along the White River and the Cheyenne River in southwest South Dakota. We have not collected specimens from other locations but there are records from eastern South Dakota. C. terricola terricola was rarely collected along the White River near Interior. Some tiger beetle experts consider these separate species.
