Cicindela cuprascens, the Coppery Tiger Beetle, occurs along sandy rivers and streams. A summer species, C. cuprascens can be common in July and August, but is unpredictable in occurrence. This beetle may appear to be rare one summer but common in the same location the following summer. C. cuprascens is very similar to C. macra, but the Coppery Tiger Beetle is brighter and shinier than C. macra.
