All Time Team Greats Season Disk for Diamond Mind Baseball Installation instructions for DMB 8.0 & 9.0 ============================================================================ This season disk file is in ZIP file format. When you download the file, your web browser will give you the opportunity to choose a directory in which to place the downloaded file, and it may ask you to provide a file name. The name of this file is "dmb8grts.zip" for the v8.0 and "dmb9grts.zip" for the v9.0 version. (no quotes). You can actually save this file with any name as long as you save it as a ".zip" file. Make a note of where you saved the file as you will need to remember where you saved it to get it installed into DMB. Once you have downloaded the file, you need to decide what procedure is easiest for you to get it installed. (Either procedure works fine.) =========================================================================== METHOD 1 - This method is more of a "automated" way of installing the season disk. This is the easiest way of installing it, since you do not need to unzip the file or create any directories yourself. The DMB8 game will handle all of this for you. ============================================================================ After downloading this file, run DMB 8.0/9.0 and perform the following steps: - Select "Transfer" from the menu. - Select "Create League Database". - When the dialog box comes up, you need to browse to the location where you saved the dmb8grts.zip or dmb9grts.zip file. - Once you browse to the location of the , click on it once to highlight it and select "Open". - DMB displays a window allowing you to choose a location and name for the new database to be created. NOTE: DMB will automatically default to the location of where you installed DMB. It is recommended that you do not change the "Location for the new database". This will store this new league file underneath the DMB installation directory, thus keeping things nice and organized. - Decide what name you want to use for this new season disk and enter it into the "Name for new database" box and then select the "OK" button. (i.e. - DMBGRTS) - DMB will now create a new directory using whatever name you chose and then copy this season disk into that directory. You will get a message that the "League database was successfully imported". Select "OK" to return to DMB. - After creating this new database, DMB will also make it the "active" database and you may start using it immediately. (In case you're wondering, the name of the directory and the name of the "database" are one in the same.) ============================================================================ METHOD 2 - This method is more of a "manual" way of installing the season disk, but works just as well as the automated way of Method 1. ============================================================================ After downloading this file, run DMB 8.0/9.0 and perform the following steps: - You need to make a directory (folder) underneath the ..\DMB8 or ..\DMB9 directory. (i.e. - C:\DMB8\DMBGRTS You can use any name for this directory you want.) - Unzip the contents of the DMB8GRTS.ZIP or DMB9GRTS.ZIP file into this folder. - Select the "File" menu from DMB - Select the "Add reference to existing database" - A dialog box will appear and you need to browse to the directory name that you created and unzipped the file into. - Once you have highlighted the directory name, select OK. - DMB will add a reference into the game for this new season disk and also make it the active season disk.
