All Time Team Greats Season Disk for Diamond Mind Baseball v7.0 Installation instructions for DMB 7.0 (From the DMB Web site) ============================================================================ This season disk file is a self-extracting zip file. This is the same format used for season disks that are created and sold by Diamond Mind, so you can use the same methods for installing them. When you download the file, your web browser will give you the opportunity to choose a directory in which to place the downloaded file, and it may ask you to provide a file name. You can choose any directory and file name you like, but make sure the file name has the .exe for the extension. Without this, your attempt to expand the file will likely fail. Once you have downloaded the file, there are two ways to install these seasons. The first method is to copy the downloaded file to a floppy disk and use the Install command on the Diamond Mind Setup menu. Start Diamond Mind Baseball, choose Setup from the main menu , then choose the Install command. Place the diskette in drive a: or b:, and indicate on the popup form which drive you are installing from. Diamond Mind Baseball then scans the diskette and pops up a list of all season disks it was able to find. After you select the one you wish to install, the game suggests a drive and directory name on your hard disk. When you have either accepted the suggested name or provided your own, Setup expands the files into the right location and adds the directory to the list on the screen. The second method involves a few more steps but does not require that you copy the file to a floppy disk. Start by creating a directory/folder under your Diamond Mind Baseball game directory/folder. The game directory is called c:\dmb7 on most computers, but may differ if you chose a different name when you installed the game. Then copy the downloaded file into that newly-created directory. Once the file is in that directory, you can expand it. For DOS users, use the CD command to make that the current directory, then type the file name and press Enter. For Windows95 users, you can use Explorer to view the contents of the folder that contains the file and double-click on the file to expand it. When the file has been expanded, you'll need to tell Diamond Mind Baseball that there's a new season disk out there. To do this, follow the instructions on pages 96-98 of the Version 7 User Guide. You'll be using the PlayerDir command to create a reference to this new directory/folder.
