Say's Phoebe and a very early Rock Wren

While trying to photograph this Say's Phoebe without a lot of success....

I noticed this rock and a brown blur.....

Then a Rock Wren appeared on the rock.....

You're a rock wren, not a rock pecker...
According to the Birds of South Dakota, the earliest spring date for a Rock Wren in South Dakota is April 17.
