Merchants: No Merchants Fee – Merchants are responsible for SD State sales tax – Must have sales tax license.

Rules of the Challenge: All fencers are considered "scholars" for the day. You will receive points for defeating an opponent in a matched style for rapier. A fencer can challenge the same individual once per style (single, case, dagger, rigid, non-rigid). There are three levels of scholars:

White - GOA- White Scarf, Bronze Ring, etc.

Red- AoA - Cadet /Ward/Student etc. of a Bronze Ring or Don; also any holder of a Cavendish Knot or Queen's Glove

Black- all others.

For defeating an opponent in a challenge you get one point. If the person is of a higher level you get one extra point per level defeated. Thus a "black" level defeating a Don gets 3 points but a Don defeating a Don gets only one point. This will increase the challenge for experienced fencers and allow newer ones to compete. As this is an honorable school we should not forget about courtesy. Every fencer will receive a token at the beginning of the event and be asked to give a token to the person who is an exemplar of honor and courtesy. While not a determiner of the "Provost", receiving these tokens will no doubt be an honor.

After completing the challenge, teaching will begin. Fencers can seek each other individually or in groups to learn different techniques in the Arte of Defense. All fencers are encouraged to learn from their brothers and sisters!
