Minutes for RehabACTion Meeting

1/14/2004 Conference Call 11:00am - 12:00am (CST)

Attendance: Bernie Grimme, Rich Gardner, Margie Helgeson, and Kim Crossan

Absent: Dawn Backer

Rich made a motion to approve last minutes; Bernie seconded it. Passed unanimously

Kim reviewed the agenda and additions to Agenda

The attached Treasure's report was reviewed. Rich made motion to accept report and Margie seconded it. Discussion was on the difference on membership. Passed unanimously. There was some discussion on the profit of $120 on the membership. Bernie will review this and get back to the Board. .

Nomination Committee reported by Rich. Rich has a slate of officers. Rich will develop a ballot.

Committee Reports at upcoming Annual Meeting:

Linda Lockner could summarize the progress of the Training Committee.
Membership/Marketing report will be presented by Margie
Legislative Report by Gaye Mattke. Kim will ask her.

Motion by Rich Gardner to fund $100 for Summer CSPD session and $250 Support Staff Social. Margie seconded it. Passed unanimously

Discussed the possibility of doing some recognition for Gary Carlson award. No decision was made.

Bernie made a motion to purchase two door prices up to $150 each. Margie seconded. Passed unanimously. Rich will look into buying these prizes.

Bernie discussed the promotion that was done to current SDAPSE members. There are currently 22 members and they received a letter from Kim Crossan offering a free membership for a year to SD RehabACTion and a free shirt. SDAPSE is helping sponsoring Mid-Winter. We discussed Kim sending them a thank you letter. We also discussed SD RehabACTion setting money aside for a provider component in SD RehabACTion that can be used for Fall Conference or other provider training.

It was discussed not to pursue any training this summer and just to assist the providers with the Fall Conference.

Changes in Bi-Laws were discussed as to be advertised and voted on at the annual meeting. A draft will be put on the web home page.

Bernie make the motion for SD RehabACTion to purchase awards to recognize individuals who received certification and appreciation awards for Gaye and Grady during Annual meeting. The certification award would be $70 in cost per award and the award to Gaye and Grady would be up to $150 each. Kim seconded it. Passed unanimously. The SD RehabACTion Recognition of Certification would:

Recognize RehabACTion Members who have become certified since September 2001
Certification must be competency based
$60-$70 picture
E-mail members of announcement

An update was provided on Mid Winter. The information is on the home page. We are getting folders printed with one-time upfront cost. Folders can be used for other future trainings. We also are getting marketing handouts printed.

The Annual Meeting will be held on March 8^th at 5:00pm followed by the social. Kim and Rich are working on the agenda and social. We discussed doing two door prizes for the social; providing free drink tickets for individuals who attended the annual meeting and wore their RehabACTion shirt. Rich was going to look for a gavel.

Bernie discussed the need to send an e-mail notice to SD RehabACTion members that will include the following:

Announcement of Certification Award
Announcement of Mid Winter - Web Site
Announcement of Annual Meeting
Draft Agenda of Annual meeting and election of officers.
Shirts are still being sold to members
Change on bi-laws

Next conference call would be February 11^th at 11am (CST)

Margie made the motion to adjourn and Rich seconded it. Motion passed.
