RehabAction Meeting Minutes – 10/05/04

 

 

The Meeting was called to order by President, Richard Gardner.

 

Board members present were: Richard Gardner, Alan Vandenburg, Bernie Grimme, Marjorie Helgeson, Dan Rounds, and Kim Crossan.  Linda Lockner was not present.

 

Richard announced that the minutes of the last meeting were posted on the RehabAction web page.

 

Officer’s reports:

Treasurer, Bernie Grimme provided a hand out of the Treasurer’s report from 01/01/04 to 10/01/04.  An Itemized Category Report by Category was made available for board members and for other members wanting to review the details.  Cash on hand at the beginning of the year totaled $13,739.79.  The profit during the year totaled $13,912.62.  The balance as of 08/05/04 was $26,652.41.  The profit reflects income from membership, provider account deposit, MidWinter 2004, and Fall Conference 2004.  Bernie noted that the final income and expenditure for the Fall Conference 2004 are not complete.  It is estimated that there will be a $1,500 to $2,500 profit after bills are paid.  Cindy Ryan made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report and Deb Brinkman seconded the motion.

 

Report on Fall Conference:

Dan Rounds thanked RehabAction and DRS for help with the Fall Conference.  He also extended his appreciation to CTAT, Black Hills Special Service Coop, the SD Council on DD, and Freedom to Work.  Dan asked for recommendations on location and topics for next year’s Fall Conference.

Alan Vandenburg announced that nominations for the RehabAction Board are now being accepted and the election will be in March at the MidWinter Conference.  Positions open for nominations include president elect, provider member at large, member at large, and secretary.  Nikki Moir of Career Advantage has been nominated as the provider member at large and will be in charge of next year’s Fall Conference, if elected. 

 

New Business:

Bernie announced that there will be a 2-day Employment Specialist Training by CTAT in Watertown on November 4 & 5.   A 5-day E.S. training will be in Sioux Falls in January 2005.  Cammie Cloman, as CTAT trainer will be giving this session.  Reports are that she is an excellent speaker.

Bernie announced that RehabAction polo shirts are being ordered in men’s and women’s sizes.  Janet Ball and Barb Rorbach are coordinating that.  The shirts can be used for outreach to interest more people in joining RehabAction.

Grady Kickul, DRS Director said that other States are interested in inviting RehabAction  Board members to help them activate their own organizations.

 

Julianne Ariet-Rollman made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Nikki Moir seconded the motion.
