Thank you ! To all the blood and bone marrow donors that donated and tested for Travis. The drive collected 172 units of blood and 103 people joined the bone marrow registry!

Blood Drive for Travis

Diane Smith is coordinating a blood drive.  Travis will need about 100 units of blood.  Sioux Valley has agreed to bring the blood mobile to Pierre if we can guarantee to produce 100 donors.  We already have 250 people signed up!

When: November 11th, 9:00am to 6:00pm
Where: South East Community Center 2315 East Park Ave.

There is a one time only registration fee of 25.00 to become a bone marrow donor, but it will be the only expense. To be tested for bone marrow a small amount of blood is drawn from the arm. Many people die each year waiting for a bone marrow donor and if even one person can become a donor and help someone going through what Travis is, it will be worth if. There is no place in SD that does this kind of testing, the staff doing this drive are coming out from Minneapolis, so I would encourage everyone to consider it.
